Founded in 1878, Crediton RFC stands as one of Devon’s proudest amateur rugby clubs, a cornerstone of the local community.

With five senior sides, a thriving walking rugby group, and 13 age-grade teams, we create opportunities for men, women, boys and girls of all abilities to learn, grow and thrive - both on and off the pitch.

Although my rugby-playing days ended when I left school many years ago, I have had a long association with Crediton Rugby Club.
I have fond memories of volunteering behind the bar with Ken Clover and George Foulstone, after being persuaded by Peter Howison to join the bar team. A typical Saturday afternoon would involve watching the game, followed by a few hours of bar work and then a compulsory visit to The Mitre, The Market House, The Oatsheaf and, finally, The Grapevine. Great times!
Roll forward quite a few years, and Jen and I were delighted when our children, Joseph and Charlotte, showed an interest in playing rugby from a very early age. With all the help and support from so many people within the club, Joe and Charlotte still love playing rugby. Joe continues to play for Crediton and, hopefully, will make a return following his knee operation.
Charlotte has really enjoyed her time at Crediton, where her rugby journey began. With encouragement from many people within the club, she has gone on to play and be part of teams at Exeter College and now Exeter University. She won the Limitless Player of the Tournament at Rosslyn Park in 2024 and went on to represent England U18 Women in the Six Nations in 2025.
Just a few reasons why we are so proud to be associated with such a fantastic club.
